Will, Heather, Bill and I headed for Idaho. We crossed Nevada on Rt 80 ( again ) and stopped in Salt Lake City for a look around. We pitched our tents at a campsite at about 10:30 PM after a very full day and crashed.
Monday found us crossing into Montana - Wow I can see why they call it "Big Sky Country"! It is awesome. Warm, beautiful hills and mountains and not many people. The land is so vast. Really makes you feel small. Speed limit is 75mph and that seems to be taken as just a suggestion. We stopped in a couple little towns - Lima and Dillon (Dillon is pictured) in particular, which were very cool. Can't imagine growing up in such a different reality. Everyone has been so friendly and helpful. We all are really liking Montana! We conitnued on to Missoula - oohing and ahing at the scenery. Now Missoula is really something - it is the home of the University of Montana and a main base camp for many people who come to Montana to enjoy the outdoors. Hunting , hiking, rafting, camping,etc.. After setting up camp, we explored the downtown and found a nice little brewery for dinner - Life is Good!
Tuesday is developing into a chill day - Kids did a little hiking and Bill and I got some stuff done and are chilling at the campsite - updating the overdue blog. Tomorrow is shaping up to be white water rafting day.
Hope all is well with all of you and that you have settled into the glorious summer.
Congratulations go out to Jim and Stephanie on the birth of their daughter Sophia - Good job guys!
Megan - Relax and enjoy the ride - looking forward to hearing all about the wedding!
Beth - What's the word on you?
