Brentwood continued

We made it to Walnut Creek and the Title 9 store yesterday - big doings! After some reorganization we will pick up Will and Heather tonight at Oakland airport. Tomorrow looks like SF in the morning and a SF Giants baseball game in the afternoon. We will meet my sister and brother - in -law at the game. Hope the weather holds - it has been beautiful. You can tell by today's final picture that a good time has been had by all - haha.

Brentwood , CA

Hello again! We arrived in Brentwood , CA - home of Debbie Bordeaux - renowned entertainer from The Baja Road,(Ask Bill) on Tuesday afternoon. Soon the rest of the Baja group showed up and we have been hanging out, relaxing, and just generally catching up and smiling since then. All of this thanks to Debbie's wonderful hospitality and the various talents of the individuals in the group. Will and Heather arrive on Saturday. We hope you are all enjoying the summer so far. Take care.

"Old Hangtown"

Placerville was a real pleasant surprise. Apparently it is right in the middle of the goldfields and was a center during the goldrush. It was called Hangtown at the time and seems to be the town where" Justice" was carried out. There are several buildings that date back to the goldrush still in daily use. The Cozmic Cafe ( with wifi internet service ) actually fronts an old mine, so after you pick up your order you can go back and sit inside the mine. There are a bunch of alcoves with wicker furniture. Upstairs they have yoga classes and there is also a small bar with live music on the weekends!
Meanwhile, back at the campground there's a great pool where we swam, sunbathed and just hung out during the afternoon.
So far we have behaved ourselves and managed to avoid the noose.

Tahoe's Hot!

Well we really liked Tahoe - it was beautful. We did some walking and watching the rafters and just generally enjoying the scenery.
Then the fire hit. It was spectacular in a bad way. The wind was blowing NE so we weren't getting smoked out but it's too close for comfort. They started evacuating 5 miles up the road and the campground exit was jammed up with firetrucks and emergency vehicles. Time to go.
We hit the road and drove toward Sacramento to a lovely town called Placerville - set up camp again - and will stay here tomorrow and enjoy the pool and chill.
Looking forward to arriving at Debbie's on Tuesday.

California!!

Well Winnemucca didn't disappoint. Great little town in the middle of nowhere - but casinos and great atmosphere - real wild west. Would be a great place to spend some downtime. Western Nevada was really otherworldly, with a heavy wind coming against us and little twisters running across the open spaces leaving trails of sand and salt in their wake. We entered California and went straight to Lake Tahoe. Wow!! A beautful pristine Alpine lake surrounded by pine covered mountains. Camped last night in South Lake Tahoe amid the pines alongside a creek.
Made our way to this rustic cafe with internet.
